My brother Brian has always been very artistic and marvellous pianist. I remenber when I was around eight years old listening to Brian playing the 'Dream of Olwen', he would be sixteen. Even at eight years old I could really appreciate how well he played; even on our old 'seen better days' upright piano. He would often walk just over a mile up Sedgmoor Road to auntie Lils to practise on her Steinway. Whatever Brian put his hand to he did it very well, having the patience to consider the finest detail gave that extra quality to his work. This really came to light when he opened a flower shop with his wife Edith who was a trained florist and had Brian producing professional floral bouquets.
Brian started painting around 2008 after they sold the flower shop. His sons made jokes at his first attempts, as sons do, but this never phased Brian. He enrolled in his local Art class, where the teacher encouraged him to develope his own style. He later joined the local Penketh Art Group and had his paintings displayed in their local exhibitions. From there he sold some of his paintings and was commissioned to paint for people who had seen his paintings in the homes of friends.
